In our forthcoming seminar, Moore Stephens technical adviser and Morgan, Lewis & Bockius legal experts will share with you:

  • Accounting update on a new standard – HKFRS 16 Leases
  • Inside information and sufficiency of operations – Legal and practical issues

Accounting update on a new standard – HKFRS 16 Leases

HKFRS 16 Leases is effective for annual periods beginning on or after 1 January 2019. It replaces HKAS 17 Leases and a number of related interpretations. The new Standard introduces a single lessee accounting model that will require lessees to recognise assets and liabilities for all leases with limited exceptions. Most lessees will find that the new Standard introduces significant changes that impact their balance sheet, income statement and cash flows. In this accounting update, our Consultant Candy Fong will share with participants the key requirements of HKFRS 16 and some application issues.

Inside information and sufficiency of operations – Legal and practical issues

Legal experts from Morgan, Lewis & Bockius, Partner Billy Wong and Legal Assistant Janelle Wu will share how regulators oversee inside information disclosure and assess sufficiency of operations of listed issuers with some case studies.
